MAXIMIZE
YOUR LEARNING
INCREASE YOUR POTENTIAL
Understanding our learning style is of great benefit in anything
we do. In this workshop on Peter Honey and Alan Mumford's Action/Reflection
Learning Cycle, participants discover where they have strengths
in their learning and where they can develop. Participants will
also learn how to increase their understanding and retention in
day-to-day and formal learning situations, which helps to save
time and money on their training. Because each participant will
determine his or her own learning style, this workshop is not
only functional, it is also engaging.
Maximize
Your Learning
Increase Your Potential!
Increases learner retention and understanding;
Highlights a learner's strengths;
Gives practical suggestions for where learning can be
improved;
Increases involvement in learning;
Promotes creative thinking and problem solving;
Is engaging and easy to apply.
Colour
Spectrums Personality Styles
This three-hour Canadian-developed workshop is based on the work
of Dr. Carl Jung and other experts in the field of personality
assessment. Participants are led through a self-discovery process
using colour-coded cards pertaining to four, distinct personality
styles.
Discussion
within the workshop will highlight how every person is unique
in the way they experience self-esteem and happiness and that
this is what is referred to as a personality style. Furthermore,
personality styles are a natural part of others and ourselves
that, ideally, we support and view as beneficial.
At
the end of this three-hour workshop participants will take away
an individualized profile of their own personality style. They
will also have concrete examples of how all four of the Colour
Spectrums personality styles contribute toward maintaining good
relationships with others, along with a well balanced and fulfilling
life.
For People with personality I: Colour spectrums Introductory
Workshop
This workshop on Colour Spectrums personality styles informs
people on why they like the things they think about and do.
In this introductory session, participants are made aware of
how they and others experience self-esteem through their personality
styles. Understanding personality styles can help people develop
more varied and creative approaches to their work. It also improves
problem solving abilities as it connects people with lesser-used
parts of their thinking. Along with this, the workshop helps
participants to develop an appreciation for human diversity.
Building this awareness has shown to reduce conflicts, thereby
increasing productivity among people who work or operate closely
together.
Key Benefits
Highlights sources of self-esteem and joy;
Provides a positive frame of reference for thinking about
self and others;
Helps people value diversity and become more tolerant;
Identifies alternatives for how people can be managed
and motivated;
Enhances customer service skills;
Is entertaining and non-threatening.
For People with personality II: Colour spectrums Brightening
Palest Colours Workshop
Colour Spectrums Brightening Palest Colours workshop is
a follow-up to the introductory Colour Spectrumsä session.
In this three-hour workshop, participants are led through exercises
that uncover the hidden potential of using non-preferred areas
of thinking and behaviour. Like the introductory workshop, there
are a lot of "ah ha" experiences in this session as
it provides insightful information in an entertaining and non-threatening
way. (The Colour Spectrumsä Introductory session is a pre-requisite
to taking the Brightening Palest Colours workshop)
Key Benefits
Boosts skills of least used personality style;
Improves problem solving abilities;
Reinforces mentoring skills;
Encourages open communication;
Is a practical tool for changing behaviours;
Is entertaining & engaging.
BEYOND LOGIC:
Using Systems Thinking to Solve Complex Problems
Systems Thinking is a workshop that fosters individual and team
learning as well as corporate change. This process leads people
to examine how their organization and the people within it are
functioning. It then identifies courses of action that can be
taken to affect change. Systems Thinking is especially effective
when dealing with a complex or persistent problem.
Because
the participants choose the particular problem area they want
to address, this workshop is interesting, useful and respectful
of where people are at in their learning. The Systems Thinking
tool will also pinpoint "leverage" areas where the least
amount of change will have the greatest impact toward solving
an individual or collective problem. A Systems Thinking fieldbook
from the MHA Institute in Calgary, Alberta, is used as a learning
guide for this workshop.
Benefits
of the Beyond Logic Workshop:
Finds workable solutions for real problems
right
now;
Uncovers assumptions that could interfere with a problem
being solved;
Uses leverage to bring about change, so that the least
effort gets big results;
Every participant receives a step-by-step guide they
can use on their own to independently solve problems;
Promotes creative thinking and problem solving;
Helps people feel heard and understood.
BE
A MASTER MIND
Be a Master Mind is a powerful workshop for cross-organizational
and individual learning. It uses actual, current situations as
a context for learning problem- solving skills and enhancing creative
thinking. In this workshop, participants contribute their individual
scenarios for discussion. The "Master Mind" group then
analyzes each of these problems in-depth and develops several
possible solutions. This allows for a more thorough consideration
of assumptions and counter-affects that could intefere with the
problem being solved. An Action Learning fieldbook from the MHA
Institute in Calgary, Alberta, is used as a learning guide for
this workshop.
Be A Master Mind
Solves complex problems and uncovers hidden opportunities;
Exposes assumptions that interfere with a problem being
solved;
Improves leadership, team skills and individual learning;
Participants will be able to run their own master mind
group after one facilitated session;
Promotes creative thinking and innovation;
Helps people feel heard and understood.
